Who this is for
- Developers moving into a lead or coordination role
- Graduates aiming at project coordinator and PM roles
- Agency and business owners whose projects keep running late
What you will be able to do
- Turn a vague client request into a scope with deliverables and dates
- Estimate work without either guessing or padding beyond recognition
- Run sprints, stand-ups and retrospectives that are worth the time they take
- Spot and raise a risk before it becomes a missed deadline
- Handle scope change as a priced decision instead of an argument
What the course covers
- 01
Scoping and requirements
Getting from "we need an app" to something that can be built and agreed. Where most project failures are actually created.
- 02
Estimation and planning
Breaking work down, estimating honestly, and building a plan with the uncertainty visible rather than hidden.
- 03
Agile and Scrum in practice
Sprints, backlogs, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives — and where the textbook version does not survive contact with a client who wants a fixed price.
- 04
Tracking and risk
Boards, burndown, dependencies, and raising a problem early enough that it is still fixable.
- 05
Clients and stakeholders
Status updates people trust, managing scope change, and delivering bad news without losing the relationship.
- 06
Tools
Jira, Trello and ClickUp set up so the tool supports the process rather than becoming the process.
Tools you will use
What you will build
- A full scope and estimate for a real project brief
- A sprint plan with a tracked backlog
- A client status report and a change-request negotiation exercise
What you need to start
- No technical background required
- Some exposure to how software gets built is useful
IT Project Management — questions
Is this a PMP or Scrum certification course?
No, and we will not imply otherwise. This teaches how to run projects, not how to pass a certification exam. If you specifically need PMP or a Scrum certification, those bodies run their own programmes.
Do I need a technical background?
No. You need enough understanding of how software is built to ask good questions, which the course covers. Many good project managers do not write code.
Does it apply outside software?
Scoping, estimating and stakeholder management transfer well. The examples and tooling are software-focused, so expect to translate some of it.
