Who this is for
- Students and graduates who want a development job rather than a certificate
- People switching into tech from another field
- Freelancers who can design but cannot build what they sell
- Business owners who want to understand what they are paying developers for
What you will be able to do
- Build a responsive website from a design file without copying a template
- Write JavaScript that handles real state, not just snippets from a tutorial
- Build and consume a REST API, with a database behind it
- Deploy a working site to the internet and keep it running
- Read someone else’s codebase well enough to change it safely
What the course covers
- 01
Web foundations
HTML structure, CSS layout with flexbox and grid, responsive design, and why accessibility is a build decision rather than a final check.
- 02
JavaScript properly
The language itself — types, functions, arrays, objects, async and the DOM — before any framework. Most people who struggle with React are actually struggling with JavaScript.
- 03
React and Next.js
Components, props, state, hooks, routing and data fetching. Built the way we build client work, not the way a tutorial does it.
- 04
Back end and databases
Node.js, Express, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, authentication, and the basics of not writing a security hole.
- 05
Git, deployment and working as a team
Version control, branches, pull requests, code review and deploying to production. The part self-taught developers usually miss and get caught out on in interviews.
- 06
Final project
One complete application, built to a brief, reviewed the way we review real work. It goes in your portfolio and you can defend every line of it.
Tools you will use
What you will build
- A responsive multi-page business website built from a design file
- An interactive dashboard that consumes a live API
- A full-stack application with login, a database and deployment
What you need to start
- Comfortable using a computer and a browser
- A laptop you can bring, or use one of ours on site
- Enough English to read documentation
Full-Stack Web Development — questions
Do I need to know programming before I start?
No. The course starts from the beginning. What you do need is the time to practise between sessions — the people who struggle are almost always the ones who only touch the material in class.
Will I get a job after this?
We will not promise you a job, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What we can tell you is what you will be able to build by the end, and that the work is reviewed to the standard we apply to client projects. The portfolio is the thing that gets you interviews.
Who teaches it?
Developers from our own team who build the software this company ships. You will be learning the stack we actually use on client work rather than a syllabus written years ago.
Can I attend online from another city?
Yes. Sessions run live online as well as on site. On-site students get the extra benefit of being in the office while real projects are going on around them, which is difficult to replicate remotely.
