What usually goes wrong at O Level
O Level is where a lot of students first hit a subject that will not yield to memorisation. Maths and the sciences stop rewarding recall and start rewarding method, and a student who coped comfortably until Year 9 can suddenly be struggling without anyone being able to say exactly why.
The usual answer is more hours. Often the actual problem is narrower — a gap two topics back, or an exam technique that loses marks the student has genuinely earned. Past-paper work under timed conditions tends to expose which of the two it is within a couple of sessions.
Computer Science is the subject where we have an unusual advantage, and we would rather be specific than vague about it: it is taught here by people who write software for a living, in a building where software is being written.
How sessions run
Assessment before enrolment
A short diagnostic to find where the gap actually is. We would rather tell a parent their child needs two topics revisited than sell a full-year package nobody needed.
Small groups or one-to-one
Small groups by subject and level, or individual sessions where a student needs them. Group size is capped so nobody can sit quietly at the back for a term.
Past papers, marked properly
Timed past-paper practice marked against the real mark scheme, so a student learns where examiners award marks rather than only whether an answer was right.
Reporting to parents
Attendance and progress reported honestly, including when progress is not happening. A parent paying monthly is entitled to know that early.
O Level tuition — questions
Do students come to you, or do you send a tutor home?
Either. Sessions run at our Blue Area office, or we send a tutor to your home — whichever suits. The office works better for students who are easily distracted, because a desk in a professional room with no television and no siblings changes how a session goes. Home tuition saves the travel and is usually the practical choice for younger students or families further out.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Cambridge (CAIE), Edexcel and IGCSE. Tell us the board and syllabus code when you enquire, because content and assessment differ between them in ways that matter.
Can we take a single subject?
Yes. Most students come for one or two subjects rather than everything, and that is usually the right call — targeted help on the subject that is actually a problem.
What are the fees?
Fees depend on subject, group size and how many sessions a week. Message us with the subject and we will give you a straight figure rather than a range that turns out not to apply to you.
